Developed over the final year of the Fine Arts BA at FAAP, the pictures were a means to find a way out of the emotional numbness of the final years of college by giving that numbness a shape. Producing the pictures placed me inside the action in a way that painting wouldn't allow. In that sense, the pictures worked as documentation of an immature interest for performance art. I remember that, on those occasions in which the pictures were produced, I came across very peculiar feelings. An intense and introspective calm, totally claustrophiliac and uterine in the situation with the bathtub on the first picture. And a broadened spatial awareness in the situations with the pool. On both accounts, a feeling of belonging to that environment, though breathing set me apart as something alien to it.
